Day Hospice

What you can expect

For your peace of mind, we want to let you know as much as possible about what to expect if you’re coming to the Day Hospice as a patient.

Although your first time coming to the Day Hospice can be an anxious one, we’d like you to feel as relaxed and informed as possible. Each patient is assessed at their initial outpatient appointment. This allows us to introduce the hospice and all of its services, talk about your concerns and asks questions.

On your first visit to the Day Hospice you will be allocated a nurse who will be your main point of contact. The nurse will work closely with you to create a plan of care to meet your needs.

We hope that you’ll feel comfortable during your visits and want you to know that if you have any worries or concerns, questions or comments, our staff are keen to respond to your needs and be of help. If you have any questions prior to coming to the Day Hospice, feel free to call on 01642 811060 or email dayhospice@teessidehospice.co.uk and we’ll provide an answer as soon as possible.

You can be referred to the Day Hospice by your GP, Consultant, Macmillan Nurse or Hospital and Community Staff or come along to our Drop In service which is held every Thursday.
