What to expect

We look after around 3,000 people each year, so are used to helping people settle in. Looking after you and your family is what we do best and we’ll do all we can to help you and your visitors feel welcomed and relaxed.

What to expect when you arrive

When you arrive you’ll be met by one of our team who will answer any questions you might have. They will show you to your bedroom and talk you through all of the facilities that you can use.

Our Doctors and Nurses will then meet you to hear what your needs are and find the best ways we can help. This might mean getting support from other teams like our Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and our Patient and Family Support Team, which includes our Counsellors, Spiritual Care Team and a Welfare Advisor.

Day to day care

On our 10-bed Inpatient Unit you’ll benefit from 24-hour, high-quality care. You’ll have your own en suite room, which you’re welcome to make your own. All of our rooms open out onto our tranquil gardens for you to enjoy, if you don’t feel well enough we can even move your bed if you would like to go outside.

Our unit also has a separate bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and atmospheric lighting for you to chill out and relax in.

Day-to-day, our Nursing Team will look after you and help you manage your illness. Our nurses will support you with whatever you need, whether that’s someone to talk to, a bath, a hand massage or a request for a particular meal. While you’re with us, if you or someone close to you is celebrating a special occasion, don’t forget to tell us so we can celebrate with you.

Medical Care

Our Consultants, Doctors and Nurses are experts in helping you feel as well as you can and making you as comfortable as possible.

During normal working hours, a doctor is always available and in the evenings and at weekends, an on call doctor can provide expert, medical advice and visit you if you have an urgent problem.

If you have any more questions, we’ll be happy to answer them.
