Volunteer Kitchen Porter

Location:  Teesside Hospice, 1 Northgate road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough TS5 5NW  

Time Requirement:  Flexible to suit you, hours between 11.00am and 2.00pm

DBS Check needed? Yes

Age Requirements: From 18 years old plus

Role Summary: The role involves supporting our catering team to by washing and clean pots and preparing vegetables for the coffee shop and our inpatient unit

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To wash pots and keep pot washing area clean and tidy
  • General cleaning duties
  • To ensure the tables and surrounding area are clean and tidy
  • To load and unload a dishwasher
  • To provide a prompt, pleasant and courteous service
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

Training requirements:

As a Volunteer Kitchen Porter you will complete the following training:

  • Teesside Hospice mandatory training
  • Volunteer induction training
  • Any other training identified as appropriate to the role
     

Support and supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be your Line Manager to support you in your role.
 

Communications:

Your Line Manager will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
