Teesside Hospice celebrates annual Long Service Awards 

This Saturday Teesside Hospice will celebrate its 36^th birthday and have been recognising the work of 94 dedicated Staff Members, Volunteers and Trustees at their annual Long Service Awards!

Each year, the hospice shows its thanks by hosting the Long Service Awards and recognises team members who are celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years’ service. This year 2 volunteers achieved their 30 years’ service – an incredible accomplishment which is invaluable to the hospice.

Maureen Thompson, Chief Executive at Teesside Hospice said: “As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, the Long Service Awards are a great way to show how much we value our wonderful volunteers and thank them for the much appreciated work they provide freely to Teesside Hospice. Volunteer support is crucial to the day-to-day workings of Teesside Hospice – it is only with their help that we can provide our care to local families facing a life-limiting illness.”

Maureen continued, “The Long Service Awards not only honour the commitment and support given by our Volunteers but they also celebrate the many years of dedication from our Staff Members and Trustees too. We are very fortunate to have team members that have shown many years of commitment and loyalty – congratulations to all those celebrating this year and on behalf of the hospice I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to you all.”

With thanks to their volunteers Teesside Hospice is able to help over 3,000 people each year, hold fundraising events, successfully operate 11 charity shops, an online shop, provide a warm welcome to visitors, plus much more – every role makes a difference and helps to raise funds for the hospice.
