Andrew took part in our Tour de Teesside fundraiser this year and raised an amazing £700 as he cycled 200 miles throughout July! Read Andrew’s story as he shared his experience cycling for Teesside Hospice.

“My name is Andrew, and I took part in the Tour de Teesside for Teesside Hospice!

Over July, I cycled over 200 miles to raise money for Teesside Hospice which is a local charity in Middlesbrough. I managed to raise over £700, and I got a match fund of £250 from my employer which has obviously contributed significantly!

200 miles sounds quite easy to cycle, and it was at first. But, once you got into it, it was really quite challenging. In moments, I did want to give up, but then I realised the reason why I was doing it, and the support that the hospice provides within the local community. That gave me the motivation to continue.

I’d like to say a big thank you to each and every one of you that has donated to me, as little as people did and for the huge amounts that people did. I really appreciate it, and on behalf of Teesside Hospice, thank you very much!

If you're up for the challenge next year, give it a go. It’s well worth it.”
