Take a look below at some of the ways your company can support us.

Charity of the year partnership

Make it a year to remember and award Teesside Hospice as your charity of the year.

This great opportunity allows you to unite your staff behind a local, worthwhile cause that they can feel passionate about.  We will be on hand to advise you and your staff on how you can get involved in fundraising activities, events, challenges and volunteering.

It’s a great opportunity to develop your employee’s skills, increase your brand awareness, and explore potential commercial opportunities.

Pay for a Day in association with Holiday Inn Express (Middlesbrough, Centre Square)

Pay for a Day is a way for you to support Teesside Hospice by sponsoring 24 hours of care on a day of your choice.

Every day we need to raise £6,700 so that we can continue to deliver our services and provide vital care to our patients and their families. By sponsoring a day with a gift of £6,700, either as a single donation or by company fundraising, you are able to support the hospice and the community and help us to improve the lives of many local people. In return for your generous commitment, Teesside Hospice would publicise your involvement and therefore your association with a highly respected local charity, offer you invitations to our corporate events, feature your organisation on our Corporate Partners web page, provide you with a framed certificate, and invite you to the hospice so you can see the difference that your support truly makes.

Employee fundraising and volunteering

Whether your staff are raising money or giving their time – they will play a vital role in helping us to provide our care.

Employee Fundraising

One of the easiest ways for employees to kick start their fundraising is with a dress down day. Or, why not encourage a cake sale or fun competitions to raise even more funds? Alternatively, take your fundraising to the next level by hosting a charity ball or even an It’s a Knockout event – the ideas are endless (as is the fun!) but here’s just a few ways you can have fun whilst fundraising at work.

Day for change

Ask everyone to bring their loose change to work!

Dress down day

Ask employees to wear their casual clothes to work and bring in a cash donation for Teesside Hospice.

Cake sale

Encourage employees to bake their favourite sweet treat, or even host a team bake off!  Holding a cake sale is a fun and tasty way to raise funds.

Work night out

Organise a night out for your organisation or team and sell tickets to raise money.

Be a good Sport

Organise a sporting activity or match and raise funds via entry fees.

Let us know that you are fundraising by registering your event!  Once you have got in touch, you will be able to request fundraising materials such as posters, balloons and collection tins. Get in touch - we’d love to have a chat and see how we may be able to work together.

Can’t find what you’re looking for or have a different idea?  Email fundraising@teessidehospice.co.uk or call 01642 811145.

Employee Volunteering

By allowing time for your employees to volunteer for us they can apply and develop their skills in a new area. They can spend time in our shops, volunteer at an event or participate in a collection. We can work with you to identify which opportunities would be best for your company and employees.

Support our campaigns and events

Get involved in our campaigns or events – with a huge variety to choose from, there will be something to suit your workplace.

Why not inspire your employees to take on a life changing adventure for Teesside Hospice?  From running the Great North Run to trekking the Great Wall of China, we have a whole host of exciting challenges in the UK and abroad to get in involved in. Our Fundraising Team will be on hand to help teams and individuals prepare for their challenges; providing support and advice to help them achieve their goals.

Donate money, goods or services

All donations, whether a corporate donation, donations of goods or gifts in kind are greatly received.

Corporate Donation

By giving a corporate donation you could be making a huge difference in helping us deliver our care.

Here are a few examples of what your donation could pay for:

  •  £10 will pay for a patient’s three course meal designed by our hospice dietician
  • £100 will heat the hospice and keep our patients warm for one day
  • £1,000 will cover our cleaning supplies for one month, ensuring our hospice is kept clean and infection free
  • £6,700 will fund a full day of care at Teesside Hospice – caring for 10 patients in our Inpatient Unit, 16 patients attending our Day Hospice, counselling for patients’ families and children, a 24-hour telephone advice line and the delivery of outpatient clinics.

Donated goods and services

Donated goods or services are hugely appreciated.  Items donated can be sold in our shops as stock, be prizes for raffles and auctions or be used at an event.  Gifts in kind are also hugely helpful as it means we can save the potential expense on various products and services.

If you would like to support us in this way call us on 01642 811143 or email fundraising@teessidehospice.co.uk

Payroll giving

A simple way to support us that can make a huge difference – and its tax free!

All you have to do is ask your employees to choose an amount they would like to donate each pay day and we receive their kind donation automatically from their salary before tax is deducted. This means that if £10 a month is pledged, it will only cost £8 on basic rate tax, £6 on 40% tax or £5 on 50% tax.

Talk to us about setting up payroll giving at your workplace, call 01642 811145 or email fundraising@teessidehospice.co.uk

Customer donations and the bag levy

Find out how your customers can donate at the till and how you can support us with plastic bag sales.

Having a collection tin at your tills or reception desk gives your customers the option to support us. Their small change can make a huge difference to us.

Donate your bag levy income

To reduce to number of plastic carrier bags used and to protect the environment the government introduced the bag levy scheme in October 2015.  A 5p charge applies for each carrier bag used and applies to shops or chains with 250 or more full-time employees. Smaller shops can still support the scheme but are not required to.

Support Teesside Hospice and donate your bag levy charges to us!  The income raised will help us keep our services running and support even more local people with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
