At Teesside Hospice we provide a needs lead service and want to support as many local people as we can to ensure that they benefit from our care and support.

Whilst end-of-life care is an important part of our work, we also provide support to patients and families from diagnosis. To make it easier for more local people to access our care, we have launched a weekly Drop-in Service offering advice and support to anyone affected by cancer and other life limiting illnesses.

As the name suggests, an appointment is not necessary for the Drop-in Service and on your first visit you will be greeted by a member of our specialist team who will sit and discuss your individual needs and ways to help you maintain a sense of well-being and a positive approach to living with such an illness.

You will also benefit from access to practical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support, as well as information and signposting to local resources, appropriate services and professionals.

Other help available at the Drop-in Service includes support from a Social Worker, advice and support for carers, family or friends, plus access to complementary therapies (up to 6 treatment sessions by appointment).

The service is also an opportunity to view our wonderful facilities and find out more about additional services at Teesside Hospice. You are more than welcome to attend alone or with a friend or relative if you prefer.

The weekly Drop-in Service takes place every Thursday between 10am-6pm at Teesside Hospice on 1 Northgate Road, Linthorpe, TS5 5NW.

If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to call a member of our Nursing Team on 01642 811072 (Mon – Wed 8:30am – 4:30pm, Thurs 9:30am – 6pm)
